The basic version of PentaCLI is made up of 3 programs that:
Create Compressed Archives
Extract files from Compressed Archives
Create Self Extracting Files (called "SFX").
The PRO version of PentaCLI (which is an Add-on for PentaSuite-PRO and PentaSuite
Business-PRO) supplies a user with 8 more programs that are fully integrated with those
offered by the basic version. These are the functions PentaCLI-PRO has to offer:
Strong Encryption
Sending email messages
Burning CD's and DVD's
Converting Graphics and DOC files to and from other supported formats
Batch printing of printable files
PDF creation
Conversion between PDF versions
FTP - File Transfer Protocol including encrypted FTP using SSL.
The purpose of the PentaWare Command Line Interface programs is to give our users a
means to create unattended procedures that can be used on a recurring basis to perform
backups, to save data (images, movies, documents, etc.) in the convenient and well known
zip format. Once an archive has been created you can then:
encrypt it
convert it into a Self Extracting file
copy it to a CD or to a DVD
upload it to a remote computer or web site using FTP (even using SSL)
send it (or a link to it) to somebody using email
create one or more batch files containing command line interface procedures
create a shortcut on your desktop that leads to a batch file containing command line
procedures
place a batch file containing command line procedures in the PentaZip Scheduler to
achieve unattended and recurring execution

The PentaWare Command Line Interface is useful for Network Administrators that have to
plan, design and deploy automated tasks for their users or for themselves.
It is also useful for the home user that wants to manage his or her data.
The command Line Interface is frequently used to make "batch" files that can
then be used repeatedly when required.
How to use Command Line Interface
You must insert the references to the PentaZip or PentaSuite program folders in your
Path to be able to use PentaCLI programs.
To do so you must :
open a CMD (a.k.a. MS-DOS) window
insert the PATH command
insert the command line program complete with all flags and options
Additional Information
Use of the PentaCLI Wizard
will make things much easier when you have to prepare a Command Line string. This handy
tool allows you to concentrate on the things you need to do. Syntax issues (that have
always been a problem with Command Line programs) are taken care of for you.
