A Message from PentaWare's
President and CEO
After last month’s successful
release of PentaSuite 7, PentaWare has released PentaZip 7. PentaZip is
PentaWare’s award winning compression software that has had rave reviews from many
leading publications and is still the only compression software that has earned the
Microsoft "Designed for Windows 98/NT" logo, the Microsoft "Designed for
Windows XP" logo and been Certified for Microsoft Windows 2000.
Some new features included in PentaZip 7
have been outlined below.

Announcing the Release of
PentaZip 7

It has finally arrived, PentaZip 7
is the latest version of PentaWare's compression program has been released. Along
with improvements to just about all the the programs that formed PentaZip 6, there are a
lot of new features that will be welcomed both by current users and new users alike. The list below is not meant to be fully comprehensive. We just
wanted to offer an overview of some highlights of the new product. Everyone
will find aspects or features that we have not mentioned solely for the sake of
brevity. PentaZip 7 can be purchased for $39.95 |
- Redesigned Interface with new Icons - All 200 plus
program button icons have been redesigned. The view of the icons can be changed from
within each program and they can be either small or large, with or without text
descriptors, and with or without hints.
- New Formats supported by PentaView - We have added
support for numerous new formats

As always no PentaWare program
takes over associations with you files.
- PentaZip Compression Manager - Up until Version 6,
PentaZip took over all Associations with all supported Compressed Archives automatically
during Installation. File Association has now been rendered User Selectable. This
will allow you to have more than one Compression program on your computer.
- Split Multivolume ZIP archives: We have added Split Multivolume ZIP archives
(each segment will be numbered .z01, .z02, z99. From segment 100 onwards, the numbering
will be .100, .101, etc. Such Multivolume files can also be stored ANYWHERE on your system
so you can save the segments on your hard drive and then email them to whomever you want
to. Multivolume ZIP archives can be set to create numerous email messages (one for each
segment). You may get asked if you will let PentaSuite send multiple messages.
- Emailing of Split Multivolume
ZIP archives: We have added Emailing of Split
Multivolume ZIP archives. Each segment is attached to a separate email message.
You can prepare your email message and send it from inside PentaZip. PentaZip will use
your current Email program.

Viewer - The interface has been changed. The cropping tool has been completely
redesigned. This allows for much greater flexibility. The "crop" rectangle can
now be resized and moved around an image until the desired position and size have been
set.
PentaHTML
has been revised adding a lot of new features!
PentaHTML is PentaWare’s Photo
Album program that is part of PentaSuite 7. It allows you to select the pictures you want
to show to friends and relatives as well as offering selectable captions, colors,
background and other HTML effects. Output can be:
- as a thumbnail on an HTML page split into
rows and columns
- as a thumbnail on an HTML page split into
rows and columns with a copy of each original image "linked to its thumbnail
- as a PDF page with a row and column
layout
PentaHTML also allows users to batch
rename files copied from a Memory Card or from a Digital Scanner. (IMG001, IMG002, IMG003
can be automatically renamed to Marys_Wedding_001, Marys_Wedding_002, Marys_Wedding_003,
etc.).
You can now deploy a Photo Album
made using PentaHTML inserting it in a Zip Archive that you can keep or attach directly to
an email message, copy to a CD or DVD or FTP upload to a web site. You can now save a
Photo Album and open it again whenever you want to make changes.
Manage your files using PentaCollector
You'll be hearing a lot about PentaCollector. You can use it through the
right Mouse menu from Windows Explorer, the PentaWare Manager or the Staqrt Menu. Select
the files you need to do ssomething with and:
- Zip them
- Zip and Mail them
- Shrink and Mail them
- Copy them to a CD or DVD
- Use them to make a Photo Album with PentaHTML
