What to do when you need support


Support can be needed for a variety of reasons:

Downloading Issues

PentaSuite and PentaZip as well as other PentaWare products can be downloaded from multiple FTP and HTTP servers. The number of anonymous users that can download at the same time is limited so that (if this limit is reached) you may get a couple of "error" messages when you try to download. There may be cases in which the server will prompt you for a username and password or it may even tell you that there are too many anonymous users and to try again later. If you do get one of these messages, you should try a different link or the same link until you are allowed access to the file. The use of FTP generally allows resumption of interrupted downloads.

AOL users can also experience downloading problems. This is due to the large number of users that may be using AOL services at a given time and is not related to the performance of PentaSuite's servers. If you do get a completion or other error messages, you should try a different link or the same link until you are allowed access to the file and perform your download. License File (previously referred to as Serial Number or Registration code) issues

We only distribute one version of our software for every supported language. Each PentaWare software product installation kit is delivered as "Shareware". Such kits are subject to partially expire after 30 days from the date of installation. To make a PentaWare demo version become a "Full" version you need to insert a "License File" that you will obtain from PentaWare using the Registration Section of Advanced Options. That section will either generate an email to be sent to licenses@pentazip.com or it will generate a text file that you can fax to 1-603-218-6044 if the computer you are regestering for does not have access to email.

The previous registering systrem based on "Registration Keys" (which were also called "Serial numbers") is no longer in effect as of July 29, 2004.

When you buy a copy of a PentaWare product from our E-Commerce store, after having paid for it, you will see a note that lets you know that you will receive a License File.

The next time you see the nag screen (it appears every time you start one of the PentaWare programs which have not been registered) press the registration button and generate the email message to be sent to licenses@pentazip.com. Your program will be unlocked when you load the license file that you will receive from PentaWare. This is also explained in the help file under "How to change a Demo Version to a Full Version".
