Redaction is a feature that allows you to
REMOVE sensitive information from a PDF document. PentaPDF Editor will black out sensitive
text or other information, permanently deleting the content from the PDF document. Some
may recall an episode of some years ago that saw a U.S. government document released with
many terms "redacted". In truth the text simply had a black highlight placed on
top so it was possible to "read" the text anyway. This won't happen with
PentaPDF Editor Redaction. |

| PDF/A File Handling |
PDF/A refers to an ISO Standard for using
the PDF format to produce files that are appropriate for the long-term
archiving of electronic documents. Being designed for long-time storage
PDF/A files are not intended to be modified at a later date and are
therefore treated like read-only files that in general do not allow for any
further editing. The editing features Redacting, Commenting and Digitally
Signing using a visible signature are an exception in this case. They can be
applied to an existing PDF/A document using PentaPDF Editor.
PDF/A
documents created using PentaPDF-PRO are PDF/A-1b compliant. You can see
that a PentaPDF-PRO document has been created based on the PDF/A Standard by
