1 - Digitally Signing with PentaPDF-PRO

Digital Signatures are, unfortunately, becoming a necessity in today's business world. With so many different threats lurking the least we can do is guarantee the authenticity of letters, documents and so forth that we send to other people.

Now PentaWare has introduced a way for users to not only encrypt their PDF's but also Digitally Sign them.

So, what exactly are Digital Signatures and why should you use them?

A Digital Signature, much the same as a conventional handwritten signature, identifies with a high degree of certainty a person or signing a document. Whether the signer is identified as an individual or as the representative of a Company or other entity is not relevant. While traditional signatures are on paper, every digital signature stores information that will identify the person signing.

You can also see information about changes that have been made to a digitally signed document since the first signature was applied.

Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Acrobat Reader both use this symbol to show that a PDF document has been altered since it was signed.

2 - Digitally Signing an Existing PDF

Let's say that you are the secretary of a local organization and you need to send out minutes (created and saved as a PDF) to the organization's membership but you don't want anyone to be able to alter the document without others knowing that changes have been made.

In comes PentaPDF-PRO's ability to attach a digital signature to an existing PDF.

The process of adding a Digital Signatures is so simple that both experienced users and people who are new to digital security will be pleasantly surprised.
