The PDF/A standard was created to address problems created by storing information in an electronic format. PDF/A
documents created using PentaPDF-PRO are PDF/A-1b compliant.
You can see that a PentaPDF-PRO document has been created based
on the PDF/A Standard by checking the Subject area of the

Brief History of the PDF format
Portable Document Format (PDF) is a file format developed by Adobe Systems as a means
of representing documents that are independent of the original application software,
hardware, and operating system used to create those documents.
A PDF file can present documents that contain any combination of text, graphics, and
images in a device and resolution independent format. These documents can be more than one
page, and as complex as you want. You can use as many fonts, graphics, colors and images
as you like.
