Brief History of the PDF format
Portable Document Format (PDF) is a file format developed by Adobe Systems as a means
of representing documents that are independent of the original application software,
hardware, and operating system used to create those documents.
A PDF file can present documents that contain any combination of text, graphics, and
images in a device and resolution independent format. These documents can be more than one
page, and as complex as you want. You can use as many fonts, graphics, colors and images
as you like.
